The Chair, The Circle, and The Row

"Beloved, I pray that in all things you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers." (3 John 2) It's not just a Bible verse displayed on the wall, it's the heartfelt desire I have for you. From that desire I am sharing this newsletter with you.

The Chair, The Circle, The Row

If you make sure you have these three different chair arrangements in your life you will prosper! Bold statement? Yes, it is!

Please continue to read this blog as together we come to understand the importance of The Chair.

Jesus promised "...when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly." (Matthew 6:6)

In the beginning, in Genesis, God would show up in the Garden of Eden every day to meet with Adam and Eve. When the couple disobeyed God their daily time together with Him ended. Nevertheless, we learn one important truth. God wants to meet with us every day. God wants to meet with YOU every day.

This is the time when you pull up your chair to be with, to listen, to talk. Maybe you'll have your Bible with you. Music? Maybe. Just so your #1 priority is to meet with God...Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

You can pray for family, work, concerns. Ask Him questions. Listen for answers.

Do you really have to be in a chair? No.

The illustration with the chair is to help us remember the idea. Alone with God. Undistracted.

  • If this is a new practice for you don't start with a one-hour commitment. Try ten to fifteen minutes.

  • Do something, not everything. If you attempt to sing, pray, read, journal, memorize a Bible verse, listen to God, kneel...you will wear yourself out. Probably wear God out, too. Keep it simple.

The Chair = You and God.
